$ Pricing Lab for Turo hosts
AI PRICING ASSISTANT PRO

Ask AI about your own data, not the internet's

Every answer comes from your calendar, your floors, and the competitor prices you captured. No generic hosting advice, no made-up numbers. Ask what to charge this weekend and get an answer specific to your listing, with the figures it used cited back to you.

Why it's different from asking ChatGPT

Ask a general chatbot “what should my Corvette rent for in Dallas?” and it will invent a plausible number. It has never seen your calendar, your market, or your costs. The Pricing Lab assistant works the other way around:

Before you start: give it something to work with

The assistant is only as good as the data on your device. Two minutes of setup makes every answer sharper:

Run a calendar scan

Open the popup on your Turo host Trips → Calendar page. Now the assistant knows every upcoming day: price, who set it, and what's booked. How to scan →

Set your floors and earnings plan

Enter your weekday, weekend, and holiday floors and pick your earnings plan. Now “is this day underpriced?” has a real reference point. How to set floors →

Run a Compare search

One click captures your local market: the same make and model near you, the median, and your rank. Now “vs. competitors” questions are backed by your own market data. How to run Compare →

No data yet? The assistant still works, but it will tell you what it's missing, for example: “I don't see a competitor capture for this vehicle. Run a Compare search and ask again.” It never fills a gap with a made-up number.

How to use it

Open the Assistant tab in the popup

Click the Pricing Lab icon on any Turo page and switch to Assistant.

Pick a one-tap question or type your own

Chips like “Underpriced days?”, “Vs. competitors”, and “Weekend check” cover the everyday questions. Or type anything: “What should I charge for Labor Day weekend?”

Choose the context to send

You decide what accompanies the question: your calendar summary, your guardrail settings, your captured competitor stats. Nothing is sent until you ask.

Read the answer, check the citations

The answer arrives with your numbers in it. If it suggests a price you like, use guided apply to put it on your calendar in one approved click. The assistant never changes prices itself.

The one-tap questions, explained

ChipWhat it asksWhat you get back
Underpriced days? Which open days sit below your floors or well under your market? A day-by-day list, each with the price, the floor or median it's measured against, and the gap in dollars.
Vs. competitors Where does your price sit against the direct competitors you captured? Your price vs. the local median, your rank, and how much headroom (or exposure) that implies per day.
Weekend check Is the coming weekend priced right? Friday–Sunday prices vs. your weekend floor and market data, with a concrete raise/hold/trim suggestion per day.

Example conversations

Both examples use the same example data as the rest of this site: a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette at $137/day in Dallas, a captured local median of $174 across 7 direct competitors, and a $130 weekend floor.

“Am I leaving money on the table this weekend?”

Assistant: Likely yes. Fri $95 and Sat $110 sit below your $130 weekend floor, and the local Corvette median you captured is $174. Raising both to $150 keeps you 14% under median, roughly +$95 across the weekend.

Notice what happened: it pulled Friday and Saturday from your calendar scan, your floor from the guardrail, and the median from your Compare capture, then did the arithmetic in the open.

“Where should my base price sit vs. my competitors?”

Assistant: You're at $137, 21% below the $174 median of the 7 direct competitors you captured; only 2 of 7 are cheaper. If you want to lead the market rather than undercut it, a base around $183 (median +5%) is defensible; $165 keeps you under the median with room to book. Your call; both clear your floors.

The assistant lays out the options with your numbers. You pick a strategy, then apply it to the week in one click.

What it will never do

Privacy, in plain English

The assistant is the only Pricing Lab feature that sends data off your device, and only when you ask a question. Here's exactly what happens:

Troubleshooting

SymptomFix
The Assistant tab shows 🔒It's a Pro feature. Upgrade from the popup ($6/mo or $48/yr); the tab unlocks on the next open.
Answers say “I don't see…” a lotThat's honesty, not a bug. Run a calendar scan and a Compare search first (see Before you start) so it has data to cite.
The answer cites stale pricesIt only knows your latest captures. Re-scan your calendar or re-run Compare, then ask again.
Nothing happens when you askCheck your connection; the assistant is the one feature that needs one. If the monthly usage cap is reached you'll see a clear message rather than a silent failure.

FAQ

Which AI model answers my questions?

Anthropic's Claude, reached through Pricing Lab's own proxy. The extension never talks to the AI provider directly from your data; the proxy relays only the question and the context summary you chose.

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. Your question and context are used to generate your answer, and that's it. Nothing is sold, nothing is used for advertising, and your captured data stays in Chrome's local storage on your device.

Does it work without Compare data?

Yes, it can answer from your calendar and floors alone, for example flagging days below your own minimums. But market questions (“vs. competitors”) need at least one Compare capture, and it will tell you so rather than invent a market.

Can it change my prices automatically?

No, by design. Recommendations flow into the same guided-apply preview as everything else in Pricing Lab: you see every current → new price and nothing saves until you click Apply on the Turo page.

How much does it cost?

It's included in Pro: $6/mo or $48/yr flat per host, alongside Compare, floors with breach alerts, price-change watch, and full history export. Fair-use caps keep it available for everyone; you'll see a message if you hit one.
